A New NUS Scotland - Introduction
I believe in the student movement and its ability to change all of our lives for the better. But in order to make that change we need an NUS Scotland that realises the potential of its membership, that delivers on its promises and that takes our aspirations and turns them into reality.
NUS Scotland needs a fresh perspective and a new approach to tackle the challenges we face. I'm not about change for change sake, but about reform for progress. Let's not do down our achievements as a movement, but build a new movement that learns from the past and creates a better future.
Last week I submitted a motion which called for a full governance review of NUS Scotland, I was the only candidate in this election to do so, proving that I'll back up my promises with action. For too long we've heard the rhetoric about change, now it’s time to start the job of achieving it.
Scotland's students are looking to us for leadership, to fight fees and for a better student experience. To build upon vibrant, developing and sustainable students' associations and to put learners at the heart of learning.
We need a new NUS Scotland, with a new kind of President to make it a reality, one which is free of party-political affiliation and willing to work with all sides to achieve our goals.
In this manifesto I've set out my vision and ideas to build stronger unions; with students first. For a new NUS Scotland I ask for your support.
